Welcome
Thanks to all the voters of Arlington County and Falls Church City!

“We are endorsing Paul Ferguson due to his faithful stewardship of the position he currently holds, and his belief that evolution, not revolution, is the best way to approach changes to the clerk’s office. ”
After serving on the County Board since 1996, I have decided to seek the office of Clerk of the Circuit Court for the 17th Judicial District. The Clerk of the Court is the only elected official that serves as a connection between the people and the judicial system. Managing court proceedings, orienting jurors, maintaining land records, issuing marriage licenses, probating wills and storing court records, are all important functions of the Clerk of the Court.
David Bell, the current Clerk of Court, is retiring after serving for over 30 years. His leadership, customer service, management skills and knowledge of the court system are recognized in Arlington and throughout Virginia. I am proud to have his endorsement as well as the endorsement of other Arlington and Falls Church elected leaders. I believe my skills are well suited to continuing David Bell’s efforts and serving as the next Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Over the years, David Bell has made many technological improvements to the judicial administration system. If elected as the next Clerk of the Court, I will continue with his efforts and make additional upgrades. My experience in Arlington County government will allow me to effectively work with the Arlington County Board and Manager to make additional investments in the court system.
I grew up in the Fairlington neighborhood of Arlington County, and graduated from Wakefield High School and George Mason University School of Law, both located in Arlington. I live in the same Fairlington neighborhood with my wife, Karen Keyes, who is a practicing attorney in Arlington, and my two sons, Timothy and Daniel. As current Chair of the Arlington County Board, I am proud of Arlington’s accomplishments during my years of service and honored by the recognition I have received.
