A LIFE OF MAKING
I’ve never really separated music, art and making. They’ve always existed alongside one another — playing drums, building things in metal, working with sculpture and restoring objects that carry their own history.
What connects all of it is an interest in materials, process and objects that have a strong identity. I’m drawn to work that shows its age, its construction and the hand that made it.
THE THREAD THROUGH IT
I’ve always been more interested in making things than defining exactly what I do. Music, metal, sculpture, restoration and design may look like different worlds, but to me they come from much the same place — the pleasure of working with my hands, rhythm, and the satisfaction of drumming.
I like things with character. Things that show how they were made, where they’ve been, and perhaps carry a few scars along the way.
STILL MAKING. STILL EXPERIMENTING. STILL CURIOUS.
